Just Allowing a Party, Even Without Buying the Alcohol, Will Land Them in Jail!
Now, with new laws in Washington State it does not matter if you provide the alcohol. If a high school senior comes to a party at your house or property, and known to you or not, is served alcohol and then gets into an accident, destroys property, is hurt or injured, or hurts someone else, under the new laws you are now liable and will be sued.
In addition, Washington State law (RCW.66.44.270) holds adults criminally accountable when they host underage drinking parties. Penalties include a $5,000 fine and up to a year in jail. You will also be held both criminally and civilly liable if that under-aged driver damages property, is injured or killed, or kills or injures another person.
